Beautiful and compelling, the Bakhiya embrodieries blend with the modern geometric expressions to give a twist to the classic Kediya that is cut and hand-stitched by a Rabari artisan in the tarditional way.

As pastoralists the Rabari woman was highly and widely skilled- from herding to maintaining a household on the move to making clothes and embroidery for the entire family. The bakhiya embroidery on this kediya was the prefered style to adorn men's clothing amongst the Rabaris. The kediya is filled with minute other details typical of folk clothing- strings, pockets, tiny gathers and clever reinforcements. This iconic folk pattern is combined with a very comtemporary textile in pursuit of new directions.
