Gandi Baat

Amidst our bustling urban lives, where political discourse often takes a back seat
to more immediate concerns, I find myself reflecting on the power of design
activism to reignite crucial dialogues. Growing up, political discussions were an
integral part of my domestic life, infused with passion and emotion. I remember
debating issues with my father, uncles, aunts and cousins. Passions ran high and
perspectives clashed, creating lively and enriching discussions that shaped my
worldview. However, as time passed, I witnessed a gradual decline in these
conversations in and around me, overshadowed by other distractions of modern
life.
Yet, the impact of politics on our lives remains undeniable. Amidst the noise of
social media and the internet, the importance of engaging with political issues
has never been more apparent. It is within this context that "Gandi Baat" takes
shape ; a project born from discussions with creative minds across various fields.
This collaborative endeavour embodies a multidisciplinary approach, drawing
insights from diverse artistic and intellectual domains. Through this fusion of
perspectives,
"Gandi Baat" seeks to offer a nuanced exploration of political
discourse through design. The ʻdesignerʼ here plays the role of an ʻactivistʼ

bringing into focus various political discourses, engaging the ʻ
userʼ and igniting
curiosity. The process fosters a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness
between design, activism, and politics.
From playful and direct to metaphoric and abstract, our approach to the
project's products reflects a spectrum of styles and techniques. This diversity
mirrors the complexity of political issues and aims to captivate audiences with its
rich tapestry of ideas.
Ultimately,
"Gandi Baat" is more than just an exhibition ; it's a call to action, an
invitation to re-engage with politics, and a celebration of the power of design to
