- About Us

Smritsonian
The Smritsonian is the brain child of Smriti Lamech, a journalist and a writer who got locked down in the Palani Hills during the pandemic.
The products were designed and created, with the intent of helping various self help groups and charities in the area, that were hit by the subsequent lockdown.
The products are single artisan crafted, and we only work with groups that provide their artists safe work conditions and fair wages.
The Smritsonian practices sustainability, and aims to use only locally available materials, reducing waste and environmental impact. This means our designs are unique and limited edition, and we do not customise.
Every product you purchase takes an artist one step closer to self-sufficiency
