SURAJ PRAKASH MAHARANA
Suraj is a metal craftsman from Odisha whose mastery of “kansha” has come down generations. Ayurveda has always professed that the only healthy way to eat is off a plate made of this mixture of copper (85%) and tin (15%). Using the ‘heat and beat” process, the alloy is first created into sheets and afterwards made into a variety of utensils.
This series of thalis is designed from a floral form where the edges are made to suggest a whole garden of flowers when a table is set.
