Just as the true value of a sword is not in its sheath, the true essence of a person lies in their knowledge and not in their caste. The 15th century poet, Kabir Das' message emphasizes the importance of unity by urging us to look beyond superficial differences based on religion, caste and/or class and instead focus on the inner qualities and wisdom of individuals.

The loose threads are dyed in a tie-dye fashion using the ikat method to create an optical pattern resembling a thumbprint. It carries a dual meaning, representing the distinct thumbprints of individuals, yet also symbolizing a collective impression formed through collaborative creativity of the individuals. It embodies a fusion of tradition and innovation harmoniously converging.

Over the past 15 years, the artist has worked with various ethnic communities in India and Odisha like Buddhist, Muslim, Vaishnav and Adivasi. This artwork is a reminiscence of the artist’s journey into the world of textiles and connection with the handloom weavers where the common language between them is not their social standing but the language of Art and Craft that they practice together. 

This perspective promotes recognizing shared humanity, nurturing unity and harmony, particularly pertinent in today's polarized social climate of religious and identity divides. The artist's message emphasizes peace and togetherness, urging us to reconsider and bridge the gaps in a world increasingly marked by division.
