Vintage Brass & Iron Grain Measure

This vintage collectible is an exqusite measuring jar handcrafted from iron with ornate strips of brass holding the piece together. The beautifully etched pattern on its body gives it a regal charm.  The piece is over 70 years old and traces back its origins to Tamilnadu. A lovely piece like this is very rare and hard to come by. Handcrafted measuring jars like these were objects of daily use in olden days. Finely beaten, etched with hand and crafted to perfection, these measuring jars were works of art.
