Black Daaker Shaj Blouse
Daker shaj is primarily made from silver foil (rangta) and enhanced with sequins which was originally not available in India and used to be imported from Germany by Zamindars for adding grandeur to their Barir Durga Pujo. Since it came by post or dak , this type of embellishment came to be called daker shaj, (a decoration with something which came by mail). At present, Daker shaj is peculiar to Krishnagar [in Bengal's Nadia district] and Sholar kaj is specific to Katwa [in East Burdwan]
The Daaker Saaj Mukut or head gear is hand embroidered on the back of the blouse. The sleeves have hand embroidered details too.
