Nayan Chitrakar, an emerging artist in the realm of Pattachitra, is carving his way with a refreshing take on Indian Goddesses, bringing in a mix of strikingly strong faces and bold colours.

He grew up learning the art from his father, a master Pattachitra artist himself, and his grandfather.

Made in the Kalighat style of painting which involves the use of simple yet expressive lines and vibrant, naturally derived colours, Nayan’s artworks are homage to the traditional practice of Bengal.
