A woman and a Jew, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg had the odds stacked against her, even to the extent of no law firm wanting to hire this topper of Columbia Law’s Class of 1959. But Ms Bader Ginsburg chose her battles and fought smart, proclaiming unapologetically – I Dissent. RBG as she came to be popularly known, is a cult figure and one that many American women must thank for rather basic rights.

Made of pure cotton, our Ruth Bommai can be dry-cleaned or wiped clean with a damp cloth and is instantly recognisable by her lace collar, silver shoes and rimmed spectacles. Her judge’s robes, as well as her smartly trimmed blazer and skirt suit are hand-washable, the fabric sourced from local manufacturers. Hand pleated cotton rosettes make up her earrings, and her spectacles are hand embroidered on to her face. She comes with a stuffed, handcrafted, cotton gavel and book, meant to represent the American constitution.

The Ruth Bommai comes with a sleeping bag and pillow made of hand spun and hand woven fabric (khaddar, from Gandhigram) that make for neat storage.
