Jayshree Poddar moved to Bangalore in 1986 from Kolkata and 34 years in her adopted city have been calm yet stimulating. Already involved in textile design for many years, she conceived and created many fabrics as yardage for commercial purposes. Over the last two decades she has showed her special creations at exhibitions across India where cloth is far removed from practical considerations and looked at only as a means of artistic expression.
