BANOO BATLIBOI
Banoo Batliboi is a self-taught paper artist who is interested in creating surprising visual representations. She works with old books, morphing them into a new entity and a new Being comes to life. These bookforms provide the subject matter for her fine art photographs, the Biblioflora Series.
The Biblioflora Series are constructed images wherein the artist constructs or forms the subject of her photographs. By curling and folding the pages of a book and placing it on a reflective surface, she captures the object and its reflection. The resulting images evoke forms of nature : flowers, buds and seeds.
These fine art photographs are sort of ‘reality based illusions’ born from the magic created by looking through the eye of the camera.
