Man Ki Tables

Man Ki is a collaboration between the artist Amit Ambalal and designers Anand & Anuj Ambalal of Studio A Cube Inc.  Spry forms of monkeys captured by Amit’s fluid and yet assertive lines get transfused into furniture. These monkeys interact with each other on different planes of the cascading tables.  Dark patina of reclaimed teak with its rich grains provides an ideal backdrop for the monkeys to play their mischief. They run across the table surfaces – jumping and teasing one another.  The fragility of such dynamic moments corresponds to the use of the design’s key material: gold leaf

A small piece of gold is hand beaten by master craftsmen into a micro-fine sheet: a material so light, that it responds to the whiff of breath of the one who wields it.  Patient gilders enliven every notch of the artist’s line with dexterity. The end result is a symbiotic amalgamation of art, craft and design.

Man Ki is a set of three tables made in a limited edition of 20.  Each edition is signed by the artist.
