Vintage Thira Mask
Sorry, currently out of stock
The tribal mask depicts Thira, a form of Goddess Kali. Poothan Thira is a ritualistic dance form performed in the temple festival Pooram held annually in parts of North Thrissur, Pallakkad and South Mallapuram districts. Poothan and Thira are known to cleanse the village from evil spirits during the festive season. The dance form is still practiced today, evolving with changing times.
The mask is mounted on a removable stand and would make a focal point in any space.
